We have lived in Bovina most of our lives. We are aware of and interested in community building endeavors. Farm Catskills has provided much information about its goals and activities, which we take great interest in - the building up and the preservation of the farms and land in our towns. We attended the Food Inc. movie showing in the fall, pledged to buy local foods, and also attended the Michael Shuman workshop at the American Legion. As a teacher at South Kortright Central School (SKCS), I'm aware of some of Farm Catskill's work in the schools. I am presently working with Amy K. to build a Farm to School program in the area. This needs to be an effort that is a unified one, and I envision Farm Catskills as a leading partner in our area. We are beginning to plan a “Food For Thought Day" (akin to Delaware Academy's day last week), at SKCS in Sept. 2010. This is exciting to me and I look forward to being a part of Farm Catskills' efforts.
